Apple helped start the personal computer revolution in the 1970s with its Apple II and shaped it in the 1980s and since with the Macintosh. Apple is known for innovative software and hardware, such as the iMac; and perhaps most famously for its iPod digital music player. More recently, Apple has developed it's iconic iPod into various guises such as iPod Touch, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle. Other successful products include the iPhone and the tablet computer iPad. In 2010 Apple had an operating revenue of around US$65 billion, and made a US$14 billion profit, while employing about 50k people worldwide. Apple was established in April 1976. | |||||||
